SEPTEMBER RH stuff… a time of new beginnings as summer slides slowly into crisp autumn days. If you do not like the dying of the light there are plenty of events coming up locally to entertain and to divert.
If you have children who are budding “strictly’’ pros then check this out: The Award-Winning Reigate School of Ballet and Commercial Dance are hosting taster sessions for children running at Reigate Community Centre on 7th September.
Please register interest on the website http://www.reigateschoolofballet.com and keep an eye on the timings of the taster classes. Please note these are available to children who are not already participating in classes. Miss Evans and her team are truly ‘brilliant’. My daughter enjoyed her own ballet and tap lessons (perhaps not as enjoyable for Miss Evans) Highly recommended.
Friday 13th September in RH sees the welcome return of ‘New Music Night’ at Reigate Priory Cricket Club. This brilliant venture, organised by Tim Gwynne-Jones, gives up and coming local artists a platform. Basis, Delux Deluxe, Hourglass, Leila and Moez, and Graham Powell feature. Doors 7.45 pm, £2.50 admission. Get down and have a listen and perhaps a dance.
The Yard at Reigate Station continues with its eclectic program of events. Music nights, book groups and rambles to name but a few. Every Friday is live music night. A variety of local artists of all genres perform and there are up to 3 acts per evening. £6 entry, including BYOB and artist contribution. Please bring your own takeaway. http://theyardatreigatestation.co.uk/
The Harlequin Cinema and Theatre is closed for a refurb. The next cinema showing is from Monday 16th September and the comedy cottage evenings are returning this month http://www.harlequintheatre.co.uk/whats-on/
