What’s occurring on the RH Cultural Front coming up to Christmas.

MUSIC

It’s all about the carols. As well as the traditional church services (which are always moving and magnificent whichever church you attend) the PILGRIM BREWERY, Reigate is hosting an afternoon of Carols next Sunday 22nd from 2pm. The brewery is also hosting the CoHorts Folk band on Christmas eve itself. What better way than to await Father Christmas ? This promises to be an evening of festive good cheer and sing- song all washed down by wonderful locally brewed beer. Happy Christmas!

If you are a jazz aficionado, then check out the brewery’s second vinyl jazz evening on Wednesday 18th. This is really a cracker of a venue with a growing programme of events to come throughout 2020. Have a look their Facebook page to find out about 2020 events.

Saturday 21st sees Triggers Bloom play traditional music at the Garibaldi Community Pub, Mill Street Redhill. This promises to be a cracking evening. Get thee down there.

The Station, Nutfield host’s its monthly open mic night this Thursday 19th.  Local musicians get 15 minutes to impress. @openmicnightsnutfield.

The Nutley Carollers (members of Elsie’s band from Nutley) will lead an evening of carols at The Yard, Reigate Station on Thursday 19th. Warm up by Chris Lee, Fool Hand Duke £6 entry BYOB. Friday 20th sees Jazz Band Una Maas, supported by Turners Hill play an uplifting set. Entry details as above or see;

THEATRE

Jack and the Beanstalk continues its wildly successful run at the Harlequin, read the review by HANNAH ROBERTS. It is a corker this year.

If you cannot do panto, then why not check out this at the Archway, Horley on Friday 20th‘Do They Know it’s DINGMAS Anyway?’

Come and enjoy watching the Dingbats House Team perform a special festive improvised comedy show. There will be chats with Santa to inspire sketches, an improvised retelling of the Night Before Christmas. Dame Judi Dench herself gave endorsement to the improv here, describing it as hilarious. £5 and 7.45pm. Remember participation is voluntary.
