What’s occuring in RH.

It feels like January has lasted 5 months and an eternity since receiving the last monthly wage. However it is payday week so if you’re newly minted then get out and about and check out ‘What’s occurring’ locally.

Theatre

The Harlequin is easing into its 2020 programme. This Friday 31st Comedy Cottage returns. The gorgeously talented Jen Brister is the headline act of a bill that is guaranteed to leave you laughing out loud.  Doors 8pm. £12.

David Harper visits the Harlequin with his unexpected tales on Sunday 2nd February. A BBC presenter, David has appeared on Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Show to name two. He is a witty speaker who will deliver an audience led talk. Lively! 3pm. £14-£15.

Music

The Maida Voles make their debut at The Cage, Reigate Friday 31st. Matteo and Paul rock out with iconic rock and roll classics from the ages, right up to The Libertines.

International man of music Nick T will take over entertaining the Cage audience on Saturday 1st. 9pm start for both acts. See here for full details.

It’s the last Thursday of the month which means it is’ Open Mic’ night at the Station, Nutfield (30th) hosted by Simon Bull, this is a platform for local musicians to showcase their stuff. Friday 31st and the pub hosts The Radars playing live. Free Entry.

Grand Union Connection play the Yard at Reigate Station, with support from Anthony James and Andy Hyldon. £6. BYOB. 7.30pm. See website for details of the full and varied events on offer at the Yard.

Literature and Books.

Merstham Library run a great Word Watch group every Thursday 10-11am.

Word Watch is a group which welcomes any fans of the written word. Whether it is a book, magazine article, or even a great recipe or leaflet, come and speak to like-minded people about words and their power.

And… if you have children aged 9-13 or in school years 4 -8 please encourage them to enter this year’s Reigate and Banstead Writes.
